Down Range Indoor Training Center
This is the REQUIRED course for young shooters between the ages of 8 and 12 (up to 15) who would like to utilize the firearms range at Down Range Indoor Training Center and/or for young shooters who would like to learn more about firearm safety and operations. THE STUDENT MUST POSSESS A MATURITY LEVEL FOR HANDLING LIVE FIREARMS AND SITTING IN A CLASS ENVIRONMENT FOR 2 HOURS. This course is primarily designed for juveniles and young adults looking to expand their understanding of firearms. However, this course is highly recommended for families with firearms in their home and those parents who want to introduce their children to shooting. This is a 2 hour class limited to 12 students.
This course begins with:
- the fundamentals of firearm safety
- range rules
- nomenclature of firearms and ammunition
- and, general operation, maintenance, storage and transportation of a firearm
On the range each member of the class is given the opportunity to fire bolt action, single shot rifles. All shooting supervision and classroom instruction is provided by firearms Instructors. All materials for this class such as eye and ear protection, targets, ammunition and firearms are provided by Down Range. A parent or guardian must to accompany each youth, but will not be charged. All graduates receive a Certificate of Completion.
