Down Range Indoor Training Center
This is a class for people age 16 and over who would like to learn more about handgun ownership and safety. This course is highly recommended for handgun owners who want to learn more about handguns in general or the responsibilities of handgun ownership. This class is also designed for the homeowner with guns in the house, but may not be comfortable with them. This is a 3 hour class limited to 12 students. This class is not for the student who wants to learn or improve their shooting skills.
This course begins with:
- the fundamentals of firearm safety
- range rules
- nomenclature of firearms and ammunition
- and, general maintenance, storage and transportation of a firearm
This course will also provide the new shooter with an overview of handgun types, calibers, and ammunition. This class includes range time where the student will be able to shoot his/her pistol brought from home. For students aged 16-20 a parent or guardian has to accompany each student, but will not be charged. The class charges and sales of ammunition will be charged to the parent or guardian who is over the age of 21.
Materials that are provided
All materials for this class such as eye and ear protection and targets are provided by Down Range Indoor Training Center. The student will be responsible for bringing their own firearm and ammunition. Ammunition is also sold on site.
Certificate of Completion
All graduates receive a Certificate of Completion.
Cost: $60 for members and $70 for non-members
